White House Decries 'Democrat Fabrication' as Further Epstein Estate Images Disclosed
Democratic lawmakers have published a additional set of what they termed "alarming" images from the property of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The first release of 19 photographs—some of which have been seen before—combined with another 70 unveiled later on Friday represent a small number of the almost 100,000 images handed over to the House oversight committee, which is looking into the actions and ties of Epstein.
The fallen money manager was a victim of apparent suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019 after being indicted on sex-trafficking crimes.
Prominent Personalities in the Photos
Included in the notable figures seen in the initial batch are well-known figures such as movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin conglomerate.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is photographed with six women, whose faces are redacted.
Administration Statement
The White House addressed the release in a statement, alleging Democrats of selectively "hand-picking" the images for electoral motives and to "attempt to fabricate a false storyline."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been repeatedly debunked," an administration official said, asserting that "the current government has done more for Epstein's survivors than Democrats have at any point by frequently urging disclosure, making public reams of documents, and urging further investigations into Epstein's Democratic associates."
Democratic Lawmaker Statement
The photographs were released lacking captions, but per a Democratic representative from California and senior member of the investigative panel, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's associations with wealthy individuals.
"It is time to stop this White House concealment and deliver justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he stated in a comment.
The disclosure of these materials comes as the House panel pressing on with its investigation into the Epstein matter.
