The British player reached the third round in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of the last two tournaments in 2025 as a result of a health issue that has affected her in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was due to play in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to recover prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.

These plans will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match versus Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and retired when behind 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the third set against Zhu because of the lower back problem that has troubled her at times this year.

These outcomes signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after a long gap since her previous ranking, finished with a trio of defeats.

Raducanu had three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

Raducanu won 28 victories in the current season and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of this WTA 1000 tournament, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament before losing in three sets to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She worked with trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over ahead of the US Open.

The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was through the season's conclusion but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled late this year.

She mentioned that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She nearly succeeded to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage then falling to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
