That Gruesome Animated Film Conclusion That Haunts Viewers

Out of every mature cartoon movies I have personally viewed, nothing has lingered in my mind quite like the terror-laced finale of the explicitly bloody and deeply subversive film from 2022 The Unicorn Wars.

In the year 2015, this Spanish filmmaker crafted a dark, somber and frequently brutal world with some tiny , forlorn glimmers of hope.

Although Unicorn Wars seems like it came from a drive to push the medium further, the director stated that it was actually an attempt to express a widespread, multicultural theme concerning “the common origin of all wars.”

That message is conveyed via a band of brightly hued teddy bears , clearly based on a famous series of lovable figures.

Growing up in a community built around militarism as well as the defense industry, many of these creatures are obsessed with exterminating unicorns, due to a holy book that tells the bears they used to be rulers of the woodland, before these creatures drove them out.

A few did not entirely accepted the propaganda, and would rather experiment with narcotics and engage sexually outdoors.

In contrast to their friendly equivalents, these vivid animals display sexual organs and clear urges.

For a certain notably brutal, pessimistic creature, the character Bluey, the war with unicorns transforms into a road to power — and particularly to authority above his softer, kinder brother the character Tubby.

This bear acts as a tormentor , an obvious psychopath , and while terror takes over his squad and claims his fellow soldiers sequentially, he grabs progressively influence on his own behalf, via progressively gory, harmful methods.

At the same time, the unicorns are experiencing their own nightmare, in the form of an expanding, deadly beast in their forest.

“At the beginning, it seems like a comedy,” the director commented. “But then it evolves into a more intense and melancholic movie. And ultimately, it’s a horror film.”

The Unicorn Wars begins similar to among the quirky films by a renowned filmmaker, that discover a mischievous joy in allowing animated figures swear, fire weapons, or sex each other up.

Then it turns into something more like a more grim movie by that same creator, including ever more visual gore and a tangible connection to the actual horror of battle.

By the end, it becomes a complete Grand Guignol carnage.

The fear that makes this a Halloween-friendly watch starts much sooner than one might expect.

The Unicorn Wars is ideal for the most dedicated fans of gore, for enthusiasts of extreme cinema who wish to watch a movie they have not viewed until now, and can endure a plot that pulls absolutely no punches.

See it in a dimly lit space free from interruptions, and that ending will dig under your skin and take up residence there.
