New information has come to light regarding the untimely passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their Los Angeles home residence on Sunday.

The Discovery

A source indicates citing a person close to the family, a practitioner scheduled for an session first raised the alarm after failing to get inside the house. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

When she went into the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Her roommate who had gone with her then dialed 911. Subsequently, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Charges

Law enforcement have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently being held without bail.

The anonymous source also disputed several initial details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that juncture.

Investigation Timeline

As stated by law enforcement officials, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some media reports noted the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for some hours.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, some 15 miles from the family home. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
