Instead of being alone or having Iron Man as a guide, this version of the hero forges a complex partnership with Norman Osborn, who here is still just the head of Oscorp. Across their dynamic, Peter becomes his own man, internalizing the signature lesson of power and great responsibility.

9. Hazbin Hotel Season 2

Showrunner Vivienne Medrano's audacious mature musical-comedy show, which sprang from a fan-funded short, truly found its footing in its sophomore season. Building on the game-changing revelations of season 1, the story expands considerably, following the scheming TV demon Vox as he takes control of the narrative, sparking a series of ever-more explosive confrontations that naturally end in show-stopping musical numbers.

Although it might not have a one breakout hit on the level of season one's "iconic tune," this is due to each element in this season being more interwoven. The action, character arcs, and especially the music are all more sophisticated. The season moves the main plot forward while providing plenty of bizarre, wild, and simply entertaining dark fantasy.

8. Daredevil: Born Again

Following the legendary Netflix series, this series had immense expectations. After well-documented production challenges, the resulting product demonstrates to be worth the effort. The plot follows Matt Murdock after his secret identity as Daredevil is exposed, leaving him a target to foes both past and present in a slightly version of his well-known world.

The premiere is a thrilling return to form, capturing the gritty tone audiences loved from the prior incarnation. While the subsequent chapters explore some new territory, the season concludes powerfully, setting viewers eagerly awaiting a second installment.

7. Common Side Effects

An unexpected 2025 highlight, this show is essentially a Breaking Bad with a humor of a suburban satire. Helmed by Joe Bennett alongside writer Steve Hely, it tells the saga of a mild-mannered mycologist who discovers a curative mushroom and soon finds himself hunted by everyone from unscrupulous pharmaceutical executives to government agents.

Despite being a spoof, the narrative plays out with the grave atmosphere of a 1970s paranoia thriller. Accentuated by trippy visuals and an eerie musical soundtrack, the plot delves into deeper questions about the mushroom's true capabilities. It's a smart, beautifully animated, and utterly gripping first season.

6. Fallout Season 2

The acclaimed series based on the popular gaming franchise returned with a second season of episodes that expanded its sprawling mystery and expanded its nuclear wasteland setting. While it ventures toward the legendary location of New Vegas, the story is not a straight adaptation of that title; rather, it further explore ideas of control and freedom.

The show expertly balances several storylines and perspectives, from the protagonist's quest for justice to Maximus's struggle with the ideology of the his faction. The outcome is a rich layered and wholly engaging addition to the ever-growing wasteland saga.

5. Invincible Season 3

The visceral and emotionally charged animated series keeps its powerful momentum in its third outing. The hero faces immense challenges on all fronts: training for a looming alien threat, mentoring his powered sibling, and battling with the secretive Global Defense Agency. The season once again includes some of the most intense action scenes the show has ever produced.

The protagonist's bodily and psychological limits are repeatedly pushed. He must contend with foes stronger than he is, the consequences of his battles, and the ethical burden of his decisions. Excellent arcs for supporting characters such as Cecil Stedman and Rex Splode round out a fantastic season.
