Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved television series like Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a announcement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
An Extensive TV Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a party host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for playing the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight series over nearly a decade.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
